I think the lamps that you can turn on and off with your foot would work well, also there are 6 different colours available. So could purchase the same lamp, but a different colour for each pair.
I tried to find cheaper umbrellas we could use and came across a star designed one on Amazon. Although it states they are children's umbrellas.. But this is the link http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fulton-Funbrella-Stars-Childrens-Umbrella/dp/B0040X45YU.
They're also a lot more affordable than the ones on Argos.
